A message from the Heartland PAYO President
Welcome to Heartland PAYO (Formerly the Greater Kansas City Chapter of the APA)!
Hello, payroll professionals! I hope this message finds you well, and your 2023 has been successful and stress-free. I wanted to personally reach out to you to announce that the Greater Kansas City chapter of the American Payroll Association has (finally) rebranded! This is due in part to the national American Payroll Association’s change to PayrollOrg. While researching for the rebrand, however, we started to notice a regional need that was not being met and wanted to address that need as well. Recently, a chapter closed near Kansas City: the Nebraska chapter of the APA. This closure left a large group of professionals without a local option to network with peers, receive updates on current payroll events, and achieve recertification hours through chapter meetings and classes. Following this closure, our Kansas City chapter noticed an influx of former Nebraska chapter members joining our chapter meetings and becoming local members. It quickly became clear that there was an opportunity to form a larger payroll community here in the heartland of the US.
Therefore, we welcome all our current members and our new friends from the north to the Heartland chapter of PayrollOrg, or Heartland PAYO!
We are excited to see where this change takes our chapter! We encourage anyone from our region to reach out to us about ideas you may have about the meetings, events, and classes we host. Additionally, our board will now be comprised of members from any city in our area, so we hope to hear from you if you want to serve in that capacity. If you have any questions about our rebranding, our expansion, or just want to talk about how to get more involved with Heartland PAYO, please feel free to reach out to me directly.
